goen
Travel can lead to inspiration and connection, yet social media often amplifies experiences without context, leading to overtourism. A single post can mislead and overwhelm destinations. People often overlook the impact they leave behind, unaware of the fact that what may be accepted in one culture may be considered rude or intrusive in another. Goen is a unique system designed to increase cultural awareness and reduce miscommunication for international travelers. In Japanese, 'goen' means connection or fate. Goen guides you at every stage: a cultural package before departure, an app during the journey, and an impact report after return.

HISTORICAL REFERENCES
The goen collage system blends an ancient map, historic architecture, traditional art, native flowers, local cuisine, scenery, and typography. Its color palette and visual style draw from Ukiyo‑e woodblock prints, which once helped inspire travel during the Edo period. goen patterns feature the traditional Kikko‑moyo and Ichimatsu motifs, symbolizing welcome and guidance. A QR code on the packaging connects travelers to the goen app, their cultural companion.
